Senior Moments
The Fall colours are coming on strong and everyone is wondering what kind of winter it is going to be. The skiers and snowmobilers are hoping for “Big Dumps” but, many of us might be a little less enthusiastic about winter weather. I hope everyone takes care to get some ice grips on their boots and on your walking aids. One can never be too careful when it comes to being safe in the ice and snow. Like a good Scout…”Be Prepared.”
September and October have been busy with hall rentals as well as the other activities that take place on a regular schedule. Sometimes it feels like the great Abbot and Costello skit: “Who’s on first, What’s on second and, I don’t know is on third.”
Looking for facilitators to host Ping Pong and Corn Hole (Bean bag toss). There are several 1-2 hour slots available afternoons/evenings. Talk it up with your friends and let me know if this is something you might be interested in.
A dozen or so people showed interest by responding to an email sent about starting/playing cribbage but the last two Tuesdays at 2:00 we only had one person show up. If this is something you want to try please come out and support it or it may be cancelled for lack of interest.
Christine Bell from Community Paramedicine will begin holding Vitals Clinics every 3rd Thursday of each month during Coffee Hour at 9:30 for those who would like their vitals taken. She will also be speaking at the Lunch and Learn on October 17th to let people know about her services. See below for info on her first Vitals Clinic.
Peak Emergency Response Training will be using the Games Room from 7:00am-6:00pm., Monday, October 21-Thursday, October 24 (Billiard table available in the afternoon while they do outdoor training)
Don’t forget…Last day to purchase Octoberfest dinner tickets is Friday, October 19th. $32.00 at the office or e-transfer to revelstokeseniors603@gmail.com and make note of who it is for. Bring your own Beer/Wine as you please.

“There’s always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example, I’m sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt”.
P.S.
The Open Mic/Coffee House was a great success with an almost full house of community members coming out to listen to local musicians and even a poet share their talents. If you missed it you might want to try and make the next one on November 2nd.
